I don't check my mailbox often, but I did today. I saw this leaflet showing the postal rate changes from 9 October 2023. I thought I would share it with my readers. According to Ministry of Communications and Information, starting October 9, 2023, the postage rate for a standard letter will increase from 20 cents to 51 cents. It will primarily affect businesses, not households, as they account for 80% of Singapore's total postal traffic. In fact, the average consumer sends less than one letter a month. However, each household receives a booklet of 10 stamps, which costs 51 cents per person. Nonetheless, all households will receive a booklet of 10 stamps of 51-cent each, which is enough to cover the increase in postage fees for the average household for about a year. As usual, I was quite curious who is Mr Ng Wee Yap. I did a little research and found something. The image above is a uniquely Singapore goldfish. The prize-winning specimen featured on the stamp was first bred and photographed by Singaporean goldfish hobbyist, Mr Ng Wee Yap, and has become a source of pride for Singapore within the international aquarium scene. This is the new rate from Singpost. The picture above belongs to SingPost. I just download it for easier references for my readers.
