What is expressway?

Expressways in Singapore are special roads that allow drivers/riders to travel quickly from one urban area to another.
Many intersections have two-lane highways, and some have five-lane highways, but usually there are three or four lanes in each direction.
There are no traffic lights on the expressways and to interchange with another road, an expressway is connected to it via slip roads.
